Huskies of Hawaii is an AKC registered Siberian Husky breeder located on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are a family owned breeder that prioritizes on putting our Dams and Sires as family members first. Therefore, we prioritize that all the puppies we produce be raised as family members not only in our own home but in their fur-ever homes as well.

About Siberian Huskies

Siberian Huskies come in two coat varieties there is the standard short hair and the less common version called “wooly” which means they have a longer coat. Siberian Huskies have a double layer coat and in woolies their outer guard layer is longer. Contrary to many beliefs the wooly coat is a hinderance in colder climates as it collects snow making it harder for the Husky to stay dry and warm. Both coat varieties do not shed year round but rather twice a year as seasons change. This entails the breed to “blow” their undercoat which lasts around a week.

Coat Varieties
STANDARD SHORT HAIR VS WOOLY
Further, Siberian’s come in different colors. The agouti coloring was the original color of the breed and is why they look more wolf like. Many breeders overtime selected to move away from the wolf like appearance thus, creating the stark contrast between colors such as the black and white, and red and white. This has made the agouti coloring overtime rarer in the breed. Despite these stark contrasts in appearances they are still apart of the Siberian Husky breed.
Coat Colors
DEFINING AGOUTI
Siberian Huskies is a breed known for their adaptability and can survive in temperatures well below freezing to places such as Florida or Hawaii. This adaptability is shown through the fact that they shed twice a year as the seasons change. They are able to shed to a lighter coat to a thicker coat during the winter or a thicker coat to a lighter coat during the summer. Huskies do not shed their entire coat but rather their undercoat. One of the most amazing facts about huskies and their adaptability is that they are able to speed up or slow down their metabolism at will. They are the only breed able to do so and scientists still can't figure out quite how they do this. Thus making Siberian Huskies a one of a kind breed marked for their adaptability.

Animal Licensing
All puppies will come with limited AKC registration papers, a free month of pet insurance when registering with the AKC, received their first round of vaccines, examined by a licensed Veterinarian, a fecal examination, and wormed if the vet finds any parasites or worms in their stool.

Purchasing A Husky
SPAY & NEUTER CONTRACT
All puppies purchased from Huskies of Hawaii require the buyer to fill out the spay and neuter contract before the puppy is able to leave our care. This contract outlines that the buyer will spay and or neuter their puppy by 7 months of age and provide documents by a licensed veterinarian within 14 days following the procedure.
We do NOT allow breeding rights under ANY circumstances.
